HISTORY

Robert E. Vass, III is the principal and owner of Main Street Building Group and is a graduate of Mary Washington University. He has spent his entire career in the residential construction industry and has participated in building neighborhood developments as well as one-of-a-kind custom homes. Rob owned and operated Robert E. Vass III, LLC, a regional building company, until 2002 at which point he joined the Sterling Construction Management team.

During his eight-year tenure with SCM, he was promoted from Senior Project Manager to President and oversaw the construction of over two dozen Howard’s Creek cottages and nearly forty other projects at the Greenbrier Sporting Club; projects totaling in excess of 63 million dollars.

During this time, SCM received 100% recommendation rating from its clients, was in the 98th percentile with Dunn & Bradstreet and maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. From 2010 until 2013, Rob resumed operations of Robert E. Vass III, LLC. During this time, REVIII, LLC completed several custom homes and renovations and continued to watch the business grow.

Since the company is strongly rooted in partnering and teamwork and its success is only possible because of the efforts of a great group of people, Rob developed a company name that was more in keeping with this business approach and better describes the company. As such, Main Street Building Group commenced operation in 2013. MSBG utilizes the proven construction management practice of “partnering” and focuses on the fiscal management of the project while providing the highest quality product.

“The high quality of architecture, materials, and construction is what makes our homes stand out. We pay careful attention to details and quality of finishes.” - Rob Vass
